Attention artists who live, create, and/or present in Cambridge (or want to)…

Come to the Cambridge Arts Forum on Thursday Feb 25, 5:30-7PM EST to learn about resources available and get your questions answered.

Moderators include Marissa Molinar from MiddayMovement and Jean Dany Joachim, Cambridge Poet Populist from 2009 to 2011, and the current Poet in Residence at First Church in Cambridge.

Representatives from the Cambridge Arts Council, the Cambridge Public Health Department, the Cambridge Community Foundation, the Central Square Business Improvement District, the MassCultural Council, and more will be there to share information on the resources available to artists and cultural organizations, and answer any questions.

Half of the forum will be spent as an overview hearing from panelists. The other half will be available taking your questions (either pre-submitted or live on Zoom). Participants will be able to directly ask your questions with microphone and video turned on! Please attend and share your concerns and share your experience as an artist in Cambridge. You do not need to be a resident to attend.

New to This?

If you’re new to civic engagement, you might be asking — what questions should I have? We’re glad you asked!

Studio@550 has teamed up with MIDDAYMovement to offer resources about civic engagement, recent arts-related history in Cambridge, and the progress that has been made recently on some fronts.

These resources can be found on social media, both on Instagram and Facebook in both Midday and Studio@550’s accounts as well as on MIDDAY’s LinkTree (no social account needed).

Visit Arts Forum Resources ^ above

to see some of the questions we have and to get your own gears turning, and to link to some educational resources that will provide helpful background info and context to enter into the conversation. Then, be sure to visit bit.ly/CambArtsForum to register for the Cambridge Art Forum and to fill out a survey to let the City know what you want to discuss.

As a grassroots initiative whose mission is to empower emerging dance leaders, both MIDDAY and Studio@550 are excited to help raise awareness and provide tools to bring young dance and arts professionals into local civic engagement. Feeling overwhelmed but want to take part? email us your questions! (info@middaymovementseries.org callie@studioat550.org) Looking forward to seeing you at the Arts Forum NEXT WEEK!
